Maine Metal Craft is a metal fabrication company operating out of Maine, with this project they were trying to expand their efforts outside of just fabrication and offer a product direct to the consumer. With New England being very heavy on the camping and outdoorsy lifestyle they created a car camping wood fired grill that could be collapsed into an easily packable package. To get the grill out their they approached me to create a story around the grill being used on a hunting and camping trip in the Maine woods.
Ultimately the client was very pleased with the video but the product itself ran into a host of problems from weight to performance that paired with the cost to develop the product and the market already being saturated with cheaper more portable options Maine Metal Craft decided to scrap the project and explore other options. They are currently testing more direct to consumer products.
